I'm up right now because of this issue! My daughter (12mos)and I share a room in my mother's home. I tried the Ferber method twice(cry for 20min, check back after 5, etc.), however each time my mom couldn't stand it. My mom kept inquiring why the baby was crying and was I "ignoring" her (is this the same woman who raised me?). On nights when I'm lucky enough to put her to bed in her crib, if she wakes for any reason, she realizes she's not in mommy's bed, and won't go back to sleep until she is. I tried to pretend I was asleep several times to no avail. My daughter either wailed or set to playing happily in the middle of the night, thus waking the whole house. So guess where she sleeps? I too would like my bed back (but any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated).
