Thanks for the response and I completely agree with you!! I never left any of my babies to cry for hours on end or not feed them when they were hungry, but I did teach them to fall asleep on their own in their own crib. I checked them often and comforted when the need was there. I too, had a very fussy, demanding first-born who wouldn't go to sleep without breastfeeding. He wouldn't sleep anywhere, but home and our lives were literally ruled by his schedule(or lack of one!) My husband and I were exausted and cranky with eachother and our little boy! No one was happy. We slowly began to change things with the advice of our Pediatrician at the time and a close friend. I vowed to do things different with my next one and I did. I now have four and it is easier with four than it was with just one!! Thanks again for your wise input.
