Hi,

Make time to take your daughter to the park or somewhere she will enjoy. Have no specific appointment just a pleasant destination. Every time she starts screaming to get picked up, find a bench or spot to sit in, and calmly tell her that you will hug her as long as you like while sitting down, but she is simply too big to be carried everywhere.

Point out that the longer it takes you to get to your destination the less time youŽll have to spend there.

I am six months preganant and just do not feeling like carting my two year old around when she is a very active child. In fact the more I can get her to use her own two feet, the more rest I am likely to get later in the day. So one day, I just decided to make specific time to address this issue and it actually did work.

She still demands to be carried and can be very insistent but I just find a spot to sit down and she realises I am serious about not giving in.

Best wishes,
