SUBJECT: Our wonderfully warped little world
How do you tell your mother to back off in trying to teach you to be a mother? I live with my mother and all I ever hear is I should do this for my daughter, or do this this way, or that way. What really angers me is my entire life she told me that my father never cared to locate and see me, now she's telling me that I should not let my daughter spend so much time with her father and that goes for me as well. I should kick him to the curb because he's not up to her standards. I believe he is a good father and he is good to me. At this time, we are not able to get our own place but it seems like we never will. How can I tell her to butt-out without hurting her feelings or forcing an ultimatum on myself? Feel free to email me at CleerlyInvisible@aol.com. Please make subject line "Dr Spock", otherwise I won't open it (viruses and all)
