How about writing down your list of concerns, numbered, make copies. Then maybe schedule an appt with the substitute teacher and give her a copy. She may be a sub but she needs to perform. I'd make the best of it. Then try calling her weekly. I wouldn't give her slack, thinking she's a sub. Talking to his old teacher is probably like talking to a wall at this point. I'd also schedule an appt with the principle since he ignores phone calls and give him a list also, and while you are there schedule another appt to track your son's progress. Ask about when he's hiring a permanent teacher, and why it's taking so long. The squeaky wheel gets the grease! If they hire a permanent with such a low class ratio, this might be a bonus for you in the long run.
