 | The teacher is not properly communicating what homework needs to completed? I'd verify all of the homework assignments, and the dates due. Maybe ask for her to write up a list, or call her every Monday for the weeks assignments. Tell her that her way of communicating this info to your daughter is not working for your daughter--"sorry, but that's just not working for us, and now it's impacting her grade." I'd also tell that that the method she is using to teach spelling is not working for your daughter. Your daughter's learning style is more suited to using spelling word lists. And therefore, you will teach spelling to your daughter. You need the list of words to be learned each week in advance. It seems to me that the goal is to teach her to spell, not to deal with the teacher's method. The method that she uses in class will simply reinforce what you are teaching at home. I'm sure the teacher wouldn't like any of this, but I think it might help your daughter. |
