 | Our 9 year old son has been harder to deal with in the last 2 years. His behavior is great in school but at home some days he loses his temper easily, throwing things and yelling if he doesn't get his way, he doesn't use his words for his feelings, it's almost like he is so frustrated that he loses control of his emotions. His grades are fine in school but has some difficulty with reading and writing. If he has to read text and locate information to answer questions he doesn't do well. If you verbally ask him the questions he can answer with no problem. I've taken him to be evaluated at Sylvan Learning Center to try and resolve this problem. He hates reading and writing, but can still bring home a's and b's. He also has a problem with wetting the bed at night, he can't seem to wake up. We've tried the alarm thing but he can't be consistent. And sometimes he doesn't have a BM in 2 to 3 days and then has some accident in his pants because he won't take the time to go to the restroom. All he wants to do is play and not pay attention to what his body needs to do (this usually happens at home). On a last note, we are in the military and move often, but fortunately their Dad has never been deployed. We are very supportive parents but we're so frustrated. Does anyone out there have any of these issues. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. |
