Hi. We have had similar problems with my 10 yr. old. He was diagnosed with ADHD(and high functioning autism)quite some time ago. One thing we did was to have the teacher make sure the homework was written down and all materials required for it were in his backpack. I then made sure that it all got done and put in his backpack to go back to school. We always give him a lot of praise for the parts he remembers to do on his own. And, consequently he is doing more and more of it on his own! If you are concerned about ADHD, you might want to see a neurologist. A teacher can suspect ADHD, but only a Neurologist or Psychologist can diagnosis it. And they would need a lot more info than can be provided on a message board.;) We have found that a combination of medication and behavior modification has been very helpful. CHADD is a national organization for ADHD support and info. (you can find local chapters on the internet)I hope this helps.
