I am new to this message board, and I'm very sad to know that there are people on here that would attack you that way. You are obviously a good mother to be reaching out for help. Your kids are lucky to have you. I've heard much more often of parents complaining that they are too tired to spend time with their kids after working all day. My hat's off to you that you put in a full day and are still looking for that interaction with your kids. It's really easy for people to make comments when they're not living your life.
Unfortunately, life is not as simple as it was when we were growing up. I have 4 children ages 14,10,6,and 7 months. My 6 year old is coming home exhausted from school, too. Sometimes he falls asleep on the bus! There are many more demands placed on 1st graders now, as I'm sure you are aware. What I've tried to do,(and it isn't easy) is to do something special on the weekends, even if it's just sitting on the couch, watching cartoons and snuggling. I try to keep our weekend commitments to a minimum. If family and friends don't understand, well that's their problem. Hang in there Mom!!
