You should have her tested for a learning disability. Don't think that it means she is slow or not at her age level. It just means that her learning needs may be different ans she may require accomodations for those needs. My son is going through the exact same thing. He is 9 and in the 3rd grade. I had him tested on my own and he has a memory and processing deficit. It's not that your daughter has ADD. It's just that she's probably so frustrated at this point that she's at her own wit's end. 3 of the most common signs of a learning disability are inanbilty to follow directions, poor attention span and frequent episodes of crying or introversion. There are programs to help. Once my son was tested, accomodations were made in school for him. he has a thought processing deficit, so it os often hard for him to put his thoughts on paper althoughy verbally he can express himself fine.
