SUBJECT: B/M accidents and hygiene
Our son just turned 5 yrs. old and has (for the most part) been completely potty trained for about 1.5 to 2 years - both urinating and BM's. We are first time parents so this is very new for us as well. He started kindergarden about a month ago and his B/M habits have come completely apart especially in the last two weeks. He can't seem to make it to the toilet in time or he doesn't want to ask his teacher - he's very embarrassed to talk about it. At home he has always been one to wait until the last minute then he quickly runs to the bathroom. How can we encourage him to not wait until the last second? If he does make it to the toilet on time his "clean up" (hygeine) skills are poor but that's our fault as parents -how do you teach a child proper "clean up" techniques???
