My son is 18 months old, and his breatholding spells began about 10 months old. he has had three now, all of which his eyes roll back and his lips turn blue. Usually he starts holding his breath when he is hurt and crying so hard he cant catch his breath. There is nothing we can do but let him do it, and lay him flat. It is very scary but there is no long term damage apparently. Have you had his iron checked? My son's iron level is low and there is a possible link. I am anemic and did the same thing when I was little. I am fine to this day. Just hang in there and pray they go away. If his Iron is low, like my Son's try giving him iron drops and he hasn't done it since.
