Hi I have a two year old that acts a little wild at times but medications at two? My fiance's nephew has adhd and he is 10 yrs old. I think that medicine is overrated. He acts worse when they try to put it down his throat then when he isn't on it. Now he is on depression medicine. Wonder why when they give it to the kid he just sits there and falls asleep. He is a very active healthy boy they should leave alone in my opinion. He has told me it bothers him his parents make hime take it because it makes him feel funny and most of the time he spits it out and he acts fine. I would take her to other doctors and get a second or third opinion on the topic. I think some doctors are quick to blame adh on any behavior problem, they didn't have all these drugs years ago and all them people lived and become productive people. I would take her to pediatricians and maybe get a recommendation for a counselor. Starting a child on medicine of that nature as young as two I think could have worse effects down the road. I have read a lot about those medicine and they say that children who take ridilin or other medicine of that nature are more likely to become addicted to narcotics and other drugs. I am not saying your doctor is totally off base but I would definetely check into all the options and get a second opinion.
