My daughter did the exact same thing! We decided to buy her a 13" tv/vcr combo for her bedrooom. Everyone told us "Don't do it! She should not have a tv in her room!" We didn't listen. We bought it for her birthday and told her she could ONLY have it in her room if she slept in her OWN bed. Worked like a charm! We bought the kind you can program only certain channels for her to watch and it also has a sleep timer. At bed time she gets to watch it only until 8:00 and when it shuts off, she is to shut her eyes and go to sleep. She never makes it. We turn on a boring channel and she falls asleep within 20 minutes! Good luck! It worked for us!
