SUBJECT: My 3 year old is a loner
My son just turned 3. He has a good size vocabulary, but does not "participate" in a conversation. He mainly repeats back to you what he has said. In addition, he does not play with other children, no matter the age. He keeps to himself. He covers his ears quite a bit...usually when things are not going his way. He does not "play" as much as he just holds toys. He is most contend holding a notebook and crayon. Although he does not play with others or talk much he seems to be smart. He knows his alphabet, counts, and even plays computer games (very well) with 3 grade math. Doctor says he should socially "blossom" in the next year, but I am still concerned. Anyone out there with a loner for a child?
