My 6 year old is lying and constantly misbehavinb

My son is in first grade and it is not only the end of the first quarter, he already has 7 red slips and can only receive 9. I am at a lost with him. His school work is perfect. He started this behavior in daycare at 4 1/2 yrs. old and it has slowly gotten worse. His teache is telling me his main problem is talking in class, although today he got it for spitting water on the floor. We know that he knows better, he just will not listen to us. There are times at home when it gets worse, he throws fits if I put him in his room and take things away such as t.v. or simply just make him sit in his room. He says he doesn't like me, and fights me. He is now to the point he is lying to us about getting into trouble at school or he hides his notes before he comes home. I don't know what else to do to get him to mind and listen.
