SUBJECT: 4month old favors left side, head flat
Hi,
My 4month old dd favors her left side. She will and can look to the right, but she would rather look to the left. She only sleeps with her head to the left. I have tried those wedges and putting toys on the right side, but nothing works. The left side of her head is flat, her left ear is farther forward than her right and her left cheek is fatter than the right one also. The ped. said that once she starts to get more control of her head and sits up without assistance that it will correct itself. I guess I just need reassurance that this is normal and will correct itself. He told me not to talk to anyone about the helmets, because they were not necessary, unless the child is over a year old and nothing else is working, or if it is medically necessary because the flattening is causing problems. Anyone have any advice or success stories for me.
Thanks
Lisa
