SUBJECT: My 8 year old is self conscious of his height........
My 8 year old is a very bright, athletic and secure child. He has many friends,is very well liked and has never run into any "bully" problems ...yet.Here is the problem-he is a head shorter than almost every child in his class,is the smallest child on his football and baseball team and has been wearing the same size clothes for 2.5 years. His Dr. says he's fine-he is in the 25th percentile on height (?).But he has a major issue with this.I've tried to talk to him (I'm 5'2" and his dad is 5'9") but it just sounds very non-objective and too "patronizing",maybe.Yet he still dwells on it.Is anyone else having this problem or something similiar? How do you handle it?
