SUBJECT: Body issues
My 8 year old son is extremely bright and very athletic. He has many friends and no real problems with any kids in school. Here is the problem:He is a head shorter than most kids in his class,he is the smallest on his football team and baseball team, and he has worn the same size for the past 2 years. He is very self-conscious about his size. His Dr. says he's fine-in the 25% percentile for height.I've asked him if anyone picks on him,he says no,never.I believe him.Is any one else experiencing these problems or similar one's with their pre-teens?How do you handle it without sounding patronizing or "like a mom"?
