I have two sons and am a single mom as well.My sons are 8 and 3.They both started sleeping with me at birth.I was just a really paranoid mom and had a friend who lost a baby to SIDS.But I always slept better knowing they were there and so did they.Now my 3 year old sleeps in the middle of me and mt oldest and they are 2 of the most secure well adjusted boys in the world!They never get nervous if I'm running late to pick them up from school,they know I'll be there.They never get separation anxiety,they know I'll be back.They never question anything,they just know.I have never had anyone else in the bed either and MANY of my single mom friends have their children in their bed.Some people do not accept it for whatever reason but that's their hang up.My kids are totally normal.My oldest plays football ,baseball and does very well academically.I also feel that it helped when the youngest one was born because my son did not ever get jealous or regress at all.
Don't ever feel bad about it.When she's ready...she'll tell you.It will benefit her in the end.
