 | I also had pubis separation when I was pregnant. It started with some mild pain at the beginning of my third trimester and gradually worsened to the end. It got to where I could not walk without pain. I was placed on bedrest for the last 2 months of pregnancy. Your doctor is right in telling you it will worsen until delivery. Your best bet is to stay off your feet, preferrably lying down or reclining. If you wish to go out, use a wheelchair. My husband was more than happy to push me around stores. I was told not to sit with my legs spread as that will worsen it. I wont lie and tell you it isn't that bad at the very end because it is. Just "being" caused me pain at times. Just breathe deep breaths until it passes, sort of like labor! After the baby is born, it may still hurt a little but not even 100 times as bad as when pregnant. It took me about 3 or 4 weeks to completely be rid of it. It isn't a constant pain anymore after birth, just a sporadic thing that happens every so often. It is to be expected. Tylonol, did nothing for me. Once you hold that beautiful baby in your arms, you will find that all that pain was worth it. You may be hesitant about a second pregnancy as I was told once you have this condition there is a strong rate of reoccurance. I would love to have another baby, and probably will, but just plan ahead for ebing on bedrest with a toddler running loose! |
