SUBJECT: 6yr old issues in school
My 6 yr old daughter is excited to be in 1st grade, but her teacher has concerns. Apparantly a perceived failure in the "little things" (being able to push in her chair, reaching the drinking fountain) throws her day off, fuels her 'I can't do it' reactions and can sometimes actually cause her to break down and cry. Additionally, she is a bit of a perfectionist, in that she takes longer to get the work done because she wants it to be just right. Unfortunately, this does not work with the pace of the class as a whole. HELP! What can I do to help her succeed?
