 | I am still healing from a missed abortion, too. It was my first pregnancy and we were soo excited. Our ultrasound at 7 weeks showed our baby with his heart beating strong. I went back at 11 weeks but they couldn't find the heartbeat. It turns out that my baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. My doctor suggested a D&C and I wanted it done that day. But it was friday at 5:00 so I had to wait until the next week. I never experienced any bleeding or cramping, and I didn't have the D&C til 3 1/2 weeks after the baby stopped growing inside of me. I am so glad I chose the D&C instead of waiting any longer. I didn't want to let go and say goodbye to my baby, but once the D&C was over, I was able to start the grieving process. I had this overwhelming feeling of beeing so alone, since I hadn't been "alone" for the past alomst 3 months. Then I was REALLY alone after the D&C. I was only in very moderate pain for the first day, then after that it was just being uncomfortable because of the bleeding. I bled for 21 days which was horrible, although only heavy for the first 3 or so. I hope you have the support of your partner, because that is what really saved me from going crazy.
