Go with your feelings on the drug . My child has ADHD, we have tried everything. My pedi put him on meds, and we have finally found one that works for him. His teachers see a difference, and so do we. It is not a strong dose, just enough to help him concentrate. He plays well with kids, has lots of friends now, and is not being the "class clown".

Most people don't believe in giving their children the medication. That is ok for them. I want my child to succeed in life, and enjoy being in school.

Keep your child on the programs your using, if its no sugars, schedualing. I still have Tony on hardly no sugars, getting up at the same time in the morning. I keep him on a tight schedual, and he pays for his mistakes, going into time out for not behaving. You have to treat them as normal kids and make no extra rules just because he is ADHD.

All I can say, is follow what is best for you, if meds are not for you, then I would check with a child counselor and get more ideas on how to handle the ADHD. But do what is right for you, not what people tell you. Your not a bad parent for putting your child on a low dose of medication.

Hope this helps
Donna
