Don't panic. My seven year old actually went through this phase last year. My solution may not work with a ten year old, but I thought I'd share. When I finally got it out of her why she didn't want to do it, she told me it was because her friends made fun of her because she always smelled like strawberries. I had been picking out the stuff I wanted her to use because I thought it was cute. We went to the store that night and I let her pick out her very own bath products: body wash, shampoo, bubble bath, lotion. She loved it and I never had a problem again.
