SUBJECT: potty training nightmare
Please help.....

When I was a week away from delivering my second child- my older son- who was approximately 2 1/2 at that time decided to show interest in potty training. He would want to sit on the potty and flush the toilet- also wanted to run around the home naked. He was even able to sit on the potty and urinate and occassionally have a bowel movement. Since his younger brother was born- the older one, as expected, has regressed in potty training. The problem is he is now fighting us over napping. He appears to hold his bowel movements until nap and will then go poopy in his room and play in the poop. Sometimes it is on the bed- smeared in his books on the carpet- put down the floor register or even smeared into the wall outlet. I am aware that this is probably his way of showing some control over his world- so we have allowed him to nap in other places in the home- like downstairs on the floor or on the couch. He is still pooping upstairs in his room and taking off his diaper- but it is not quite as messy. I am not sure what else can be done. Any suggestions? Lost Parent
