SUBJECT: one year old not eating enough
First I just want to say that I'm so excited to find people who are going through the same thing I am. My one year old daughter was a preemie. she is now almost 15 months old and hardly eats anything. I started trying to get her to eat solids at 6 months(rice cereal, fruit, etc.) with no luck. If I got her to take a bite, she would gag and throw up. At around 10 months she started eating icecream and pudding. Finally when she was a year old she became interested in my food. The problem is that no matter what I do, she won't eat fruit or vegetables in any form. she will eat small amounts of egg, meat, pasta and bread.VERY SMALL amounts. She only drinks about 20-22 oz of formula a day. I've even tried consulting a feeding clinic. All they said was to try hiding fruit and vegetables in food she likes, which I had already tried without success (she can taste a tiny piece of green bean in pasta and tomato sauce, and only spit out the green bean) and to switch her from formula to whole milk with carnation instant breakfast in it. Now she's getting sick to her stomach occasionally. It seems like if I do get her eat a decent amount of food, she just pukes it up a few hours later. I'm so frustrated. Does anyone know anything else to try?
