It is definately not too soon!!! In fact, my little boy left his crib behind at the age of 16 months. He went from a crib to a FULL size bed (not a toddler bed or a twin bed) at 16 months and he has LOVED it. It all just depends on your child and how he deals with change etc. Good luck to you!
