Girls in hiphuggers in school

My older sister is a teacher and did a class survey on how kids dress. Several boys in the class responded they enjoyed seeing girls in hiphuggers because they got to view "thong cleavage" when they sat down or bent over in front of them.

Personally, I have enough self respect and self esteem to not walk around showing my crack...Why do girls think its so cool to wear these?
