Both my sons attend a Montessori preschool, and I taught elementary at a Montessori school. I love it because the children are guided through and not told to do what everyone else is doing al at the same time. To me it seems that perhaps this is not a true Montessori setting. Is the school affiliated with either of the Montessori orginizations? Are the teacher trained to teach Montessori?
The children seem to always be busy do some time of work, and non-constructive activities are probably discouraged. I would ask to come in and observe for a while and see for yourself. The school I taught at had observation windows or observation rooms for each classroom so it would not disrupt the students. I think Montessori is wonderful! I hope everything works out!
