SUBJECT: Helping my 8 year old to cope without a dad?
My ex and i took our granddaughter to raise at 2 mts old{CPS of Texas gave her to us}.We both said we were going to raise her together since I was just the step grandma.Well shortly after we brang her home he decided he was going back out on the road long hauling again,which ment he would be going 4-6 weeks at a time.So this ment that i would be raising her pretty much my self.I did not mind she was an angel in my eyes even with drug and alchol sy.She was a drug baby as they call it.well my Father got very Ill in PA so i got the ok from tha courts to take her to PA.My ex was ok with this but soon started not coming in for monts at a time. He finally admitted he could not cope with her and wanted a divorce but i only wanted one thing and that was to adopte her
and then if he wanted a divorce in a year i give hem one.Well in 2000 i got to adopte my little angle and of course he then walk out on her all together.The last he seen her was in April 26th of 2002 getting her tonsils out.Now he is back in Texas living with someone and he never calls her or sends letter or e-mails her.How can i explain that he still love her because even though he was never around she was still a daddys girl when he waon't call or anything. she has called him and blames his girfriend for it but i try to explain it's not her he has never given her a reason on why he will not come and she her any more and I can' give her one either.He has only paid 4 child support payments in 1 year and i work 2 jobs just to make ends meet.It breaks my heart every time she wants to know why he dosn't come to see her.PLEASE HELP ME TO EXPLAIN THIS TO HER?
