People get used for sex all the time, and yeah both may enjoy it until one of them learns that that was all he/she wanted and nothing else. it happens more than you think and it does result in emotional pain.

Abstinence is a noble, respectful thing. It doesn't make someone less of a boyfriend. And she wouldn't need someone else, in case you didn't read thoroughly she said she was in love with this guy, if so then she wouldn't need anyone else.

And no both types of relationships cant work togethether, he seems like a nice, respectful, decent guy so i would doubt he would be happy that his girlfriend is having sex with other people. That was some of the worst advice you've given besides urging the 12 year old to get a hooker.
