 | Well, wow! I started this thread over a year ago, and I haven't even been to this board in forever, and I come back to read about all of you strong women who are dealing with the same issues I am! I almost thought I was alone!
My baby boy is now 8 months old, and doing so well. To answer a few questions I saw:
We had no trouble getting pregnant (in fact, it was a total surprise!).
My son was born at 35 1/2 weeks, and was pretty tiny at 4 lbs 15 oz, but was so incredibly healthy. I saw a high risk specialist throughout my pregnancy and had ultrasounds at least once a month. I also had a c-section, because there was not enough room for the baby to turn around, but it was an okay experience all in all.
The only other concern we had during my pregnancy is this: I had a prematurely aged placenta. I don't want anyone to think this was definitely caused by having a double uterus, because that's somewhat alarmist. Rather, I am telling you so all of you with the same internal layout will know to be on the watch and be extra careful during pregnancy. But smile, because it can be incredible! And it was for me.
I wish everyone well, and would love to chat with anyone who wants to talk about this condition, babies, life, or whatever. Send me an e-mail (candi_lea@hotmail.com).
Hope to hear from you soon! |
