Kids who attend preschool tend to do better throughout their school career than kids who start school in kindergarten. A half day of preschool would probably be good, even if he only goes 3 days a week or so. It would be a great oppourtunity for him to spend time with kids closer to his own age and prepare him for kindergarten. But it is really up to you. If you think he'll benefit from preschool and you can afford it, then send him. If you think staying at home for another year would be better, then keep him home. He is your child and you know him best.
