SUBJECT: Low Muscle Tone and Developmental Delays
I know I had read some earlier posts but I thought I would start a new one. I just wanted to add and see if I could answer any questions since my son is older than some of your children and I would love to talk or get any advice!!

My son Kyle is 18 months and has low muscle tone. He does not crawl, pull up or cruise. He just learned to sit up from laying down and that is is OK to get onto his hands and knees. He loves to stand though but did not learn how to do this until 11 months.

I know many had questions on other milestones. Kyle sat at 9 months and rolled tummy to back but just becasue he HATED being on his tummy. He did not willfully roll around and onto his tummy until 15 months!!

He table food eating was delayed. He could not tolerate textures until about 15 months and still only will eat things that do not require a lot of chewing. This delay probably has to do with his speech too. He does not babble or say any words. He sounds are just mmmmmmm or aaahhhhhhh.

He is behind in playing games, claping, waving and does not have his pincer grasp yet.

He wears glasses and his sight delays too. He has made HUGE progress but it is soooooooooooo slow. He has a OT one hour each week. Started a PT every other week for an hour and is starting with a speech therapist for 1 hour ever other week too.

I can't WAIT until he learns to move around!!!
