I am new to this board but my son is also LD with Tourette syndrome, but after the last 4 years of keeping him away from most caffeine, sugars, carbohydrates and chemical perfume scents, he has calmed down drastically, including his Tourette Syndrome and went from below grade level to honor roll status but it took time. I learned that he was allergic to the scents and that the foods were causing the chemicals in his brain to become imbalanced. I also learned new parenting skills to help with him which also helped with my other three children. As a single parent I could never be as happy as I am now. I wanted to help others so I built a website www.onemindonebody.net. Click on the ADHD link in the menu. It is free and many have found it helpful. I have found many others who also went my route and it worked. I hope it can help your son also.
