Thanks for all of your responses. Turns out getting rid of the bedtime bottle was easier than I thought it would be. It was just like the other bottles he gave up...one night the only way he would take his bottle was sitting up in the living room, so the next day we got rid of his bottles and went cold turkey.

He now drinks about 1/2 cup of milk and eats about 1/2 to 3/4 of a cereal bar for a bedtime snack (after story, bath, and jammies), then has a little playtime, brushes his teeth, and goes to bed.
