Hi

My 4 y.o is super active at times too but super smart and very well behaved at times. I wonder where you draw the line between having ADD or other issues, more so parent's falure to raise him properly.
My ex was/is always hyper herself and very aggressive with him, always yelling etc...unnecessarily.
I feel parents like to take the easy way out and blame it on the kid being ill. They are KIDS after all.
Moreover I think you should try different psychological techniques: more attention/less attention. more involvement in their life, more time spent with them...and try different natural foods and see what that does to help.
Dont always listen to doctors, tho yours seems nice enough not to give him meds/ right away.
