SUBJECT: My son doesnt let me do anything by myself..
I have a little boy that will be 2 in December and am having trouble being able to do anything by myself. If I go to use the bathroom he has to be right there. If I sit on the couch he has to be in my lap, if I walk into one room from another room he follows and pushes on me to pick him up, if I dont he screams like someone is beating him. I am married and he doesnt do any of that when he and his father are home. I feel suffocated as this is the way he is with me 24 hours a day. He doenst go to daycare because I am staying home with him now. I try as hard as I can to encourage independent play but he wants nothing to do with that. Right now he is sitting on my lap as I write this, I cant even get on the computer for 1 minute and its like he thinks I am going to abandon him if he is not in my arms. Please, if anyone has any ideas as to how I can get him to play by himself even for jsut 5 minutes a day I would appreciate it!! Please dont get me wrong, I love the fact that he loves me so much but sometimes I feel like I am drowning in his love.
