I could go on and on about why I disagree with you but it sounds like others have already covered most of what I would want to say.

Now, why is it that dads can't stay home with their kids until they're 3? I can tell you that I know many wonderful and loving dads. We have a friend who is a stay-at-home dad by choice. His wife is a VP at a major company and they decided that it was best for their family for him to give up his career and stay home with the kids. He gave up a $80K job to stay home and raise three kids (they actually have a fourth on the way). He is incredibily loving and nurturing towards his children and is a wonderful role model.

This is 2003 not 1950. I think you need to open up your mind and realize that life is not as simple as on "Leave It To Beaver". What may work for one family may not work for another.

I feel blessed that I can stay home with my daughter. However, I am not going to make those who work feel bad about their choice. I can tell you that if for some reason, my husband's company failed or he was unable to provide for our family, I would not hesitate to go back to work to help support my family (although it would be hard to leave my daughter).
