AUTHOR: snglemomand2yr | | | I will be honest, I think most of you have one thing in common, you all spank. Whether you find it appropiate or not you are teaching your child to swat when they arent like someones behavior. And to a child not getting a candy from the store becasue mommy said no, that is grounds to not like the behavior and swat if that is what is learned.
Also not to talk down to anyone at all but I find it very in appropiate to call little children names. There is nothing out of the ordinary about children throwing tantrums. They really are just testing their boundaries, living what they learn, and going through the terrible 2's in some cases.
I do agree with the ignoring the tantrums as long as the child is safe. I did the same thing, but I made sure that after the tantrum was over i gave love and attention. This taught my child that you dont get attention when acting out but when you calm down I am all yours.
