He started being really gassy two weeks after we brought him home. I was breastfeeding at the time and couldnt' take anymore after about 6 weeks, so we started to wean him with Similac Advance, well that didn't work still gassy and spit up all the time. So, DR said to switch to Isomil after 3 weeks. Then it got worse, he became constipated and even more gassy...Dr. said he would grow out of it....Husband and I decided to try Carnation Good Start and he was wonderful for 4 days, but then got worse again...took him to a different doctor, a pediatrician this time, did xray, said nothing twisted and everything normal except his stomach and all of his intestines were full of gas...told us it was collick and told us to put him on LactoFree...thought we finally had the solution, but after one week he is so gassy again that he rejects the bottle. We have tried the gas drops OTC,tried Collick tablets, tried not patting back to burp....I am at my wits end. I don't understand why doctors just keep labeling it collick and don't find something to make these babies more comfortable....It down right makes me mad to hear a doctor tell me that they know that it is gas, but there is nothing they can do.. We originally started with Avent bottles, but switched to Playtex Nursers, but nothing seems to be working. I go back to work Monday and my DH works seconds and will have to deal with this and our 2 1/2 yr. old during the day when I am at work... I don't know how that is going to work. Any suggestions would be great!! I am just getting fed up with doctors that can't give me answers as to why my child screams in pain from gas.
