Difference between preschool & daycare?

Hi!

My daughter is almost 2 & she's cared for by my sister 2 days/wk. & my mother 1 day/wk. (those are the days I work). We're trying for another child & we're wondering if our 1st born might be ready for a daycare/preschool situation next year (2.5-3 yrs.old). Can anyone give me info. or advice on the difference between the 2 & how do children typically do in that environment on a part-time basis?

Any reply would be much appreciated!
