SUBJECT: Reaction to egg
Recently my 6 month old son had a small taste of egg. We were not concerned as he eats very well and there are no allergies in the family..however on that fateful Saturday morning 15 minutes after the tiny peice was ingested he was covered in hives, 10 minutes after that on the way to the clinic he was swollen everywhere.
An ambulance was called after arriving at the clinic, by that time he was so red and so swollen he was also having trouble breathing...it was the single most frightening day of my life. After 8 hours of obsevation he was released and we are now being sent to allergy testing,we have been told by the doctors that the reaction was so bad that he may need an epipen. this thought also scares me. I am now the nerodic mom screaming at anyone wanting to offer my son a "taste" of anything.
