SUBJECT: The pill & ovulation & period when pregnant
Hi.....We never talked about sex/reproduction when I was younger in my house, so now at 28 - I have sooo many questions! I've been reading the boards and alot of people have the same questions as me, so I don't feel too bad - but I read that the pill stops ovulation - is this true? I've also read that missing 1 pill can cause pregnancy b/c it triggers ovulation - is this true?

I'm very confused. I have been on the pill for about 4 years and had went off it in August (b/c of a pharmacy error, I'm not trying to get pregnant). The first day of the period I had before my pack ran out was July 31st, and I was so sure I was pregnant. I even posted here to find out about symptons. Particulary, my breasts were so sore I could barely touch them, which is not a normal thing for me at all. I actually became very excited at the idea that I could be pregnant - I certainly wouldn't be upset about it even though it wasn't a planned thing.

Anyway, my period came EARLY on August 24th ( I was expecting it on the 28th - b/c of the pill - I'm always 28 days). My period was unbelievable heavy, severe cramps etc. It ended on the 27th, but I still spotted up until yesterday.

Thing is - I still feel the same way. My breasts are very sore, I feel crampy, and I'm running to the bathroom an excessive amount - I have to get up a few times during the night. Is there a possiblity that I can be pregnant? Would my period be so heavy if I were? I'm terrified to take a test! Thought I'd try this first...everyone is so informative....THANKS!!
