Charting Your Basal Body Temperature

Using the Basal Body Temperature Chart, record your morning temperature for each day of your menstrual cycle, starting with the first day of your period. When you've completed your month's cycle, connect the dots. Note where there's a dip in the graph, followed by a steep and sustained rise. That dip most likely represents your time of ovulation and can help you plan for next month.

In this sample chart, for example, this woman seems to ovulate around day 11 of her menstrual cycle. That means that her best chance of becoming pregnant should occur between around day 8 through day 12 of her monthly cycle.
